Hey chess guys, here's the stuff you need to know for the NMAA HS Tourney this week. There's a bit to cover, so be sure to go over this whole e--mail AND the permission slip attached below.
First of all, here's an important bit of information....I have had a family emergency come up. I won't be at school this week (and maybe not next week as well). I will not be able to go with you to the tournament on Thursday. This very much a last-minute thing, no help for it. Mr. Seyfried has very kindly volunteered to step up up and watch you guys Thursday night and for the tourney on Friday.
There's a permission slip at the bottom of this letter. Have your folks sign it. No permission slip, no bus ride to the event!
Speaking of bus rides, we have one. Mrs. Lumley has offered to get us a bus, which is awesome! The bus leaves at 5:00 sharp on Thursday. You can leave school and come back, or just hang out for a bit. Whichever way, be ready to get on the bus at 5:00!
There's a wee bit of a question as to whether or not we'll be able to stop by a restaurant after the tourney. It sorta depends on the bus. However, bring 10 dollars just in case!
Same hotel as last year, the Cascada in Albuquerque. They have a swimming pool, so pack accordingly.
There will be a grade check on Wednesday. No more than two failing grades, and you have to have a 2.0 GPA. If you don't have that...then fix it. You have two days.
If you can't make it, drop me a line please. I'm going to give everyone a call by Wednesday so i can get a list to Mr. Seyfried.
