All right 7th graders, Q4 projects are due this week! We're going to be presenting for the first three days of the week (Monday - Wednesday) so have your projects ready, please!
Hey 7th Graders!
All right then, so the PARCC tests are finally over. Yay, no more tests! Well, at least no more PARCC tests. There's still the little matter of the Final Exam, which is coming closer all the time. Not much time left in the year, students! So, just a reminder....your Q4 project is due NEXT Monday. If you haven't really started it yet (and some of you have not, I'm sure) then you might really want to get on that. So, the plans for the week.... Monday - We'll touch base on the Q4 project. I want to see where we are in terms of completion. We'll talk about chapter 13, and I'll assign the section questions for the first two sections of the chapter. I'll make them due on Tuesday, and if we have some time I'll give you some time to work on them in class. This is the last chapter in the book that we're going to cover. Tuesday - The section questions for chapter 13 are due. Have them done! We'll go over the material then I'll assign the rest of the section questions for the chapter. They'll be due on Thursday. Wednesday - Notebook Check, and a CFT over Critical Facts 50-100. Thursday - Your Section Questions for the chapter are due. Please have them complete! Friday - We'll review the material from Chapter 13. I don't think I'll give an exam on this chapter, but I do want to go over the material. We'll have some multimedia material to take a look at . Cool stuff! Hey 7th graders! I hope you had a good Spring Break. :) Here's what's going on this week. First of all...and I know this will disappointing you all...I don't think there's much in the way of homework this week. This should give you a pretty good chance to work on your Q4 Project, which I KNOW some of you haven't started yet. All of you have a topic, and all of you have chosen the format of the project you want to do. In case you lost your Rubric, I'll add another copy to the end of this post, and there is one int he documents section as well. We talked about taking notes today. It's something you need to know how to do. Take good notes! You'll need them for the reading quiz AND the Chapter 12 exam this week.
Hey there 7th Graders! I hope you had a nice Spring Break. :)
Make sure you bring your CF notebooks this week! We'll be working on the Critical Facts for the first few days of the week. Near the end of the week we'll start the next chapter (Chapter 12), but that won't be till Thursday. We'll also touch base (again) on our Q4 Project. Remember, it's due the first week of May! All right 7th graders, so here are the questions that will be on your exam. Remember, there are three questions but you will choose only TWO of them to answer,
1. Please write a short essay about the American Civil War in New Mexico. When did this conflict occur and who was it between? Who were the people involved and in what battles did they fight? What were the outcomes of those battles and what were the plans of the Confederate forces? Why did the Southern armies invade New Mexico in the first place? How did the conflict in end in New Mexico. Please add as much specific information as you can. 2. Please discuss the American policy towards Native Americans during and after the American Civil War. What were some of the issues of the time and what policies were developed by the American military to deal with these issues? Who were some of the people(s) involved and what were some of the events and places that we discussed in class? Please add as much specific information as you can. 3. Tell me about the Lincoln County War. When did this conflict occur and what were the two sides involved? What caused tension between these two sides and what event actually started the conflict? What were some of the people, places, and events pertinent to this conflict that were discussed in class? How did the conflict end? Please add as many specific people and events as you can remember. Hey 7th Graders!
So, here's the plans for the week.... Monday - We'll Wrap up Chapter 11 by talking about the Lincoln County War. It's a cool story. Also, we'll go over the exam you take this week and make sure we have covered everything on it. Tuesday - We'll play a review game for the chapter 11 exam. Wednesday - You get to take a test! But not one of mine. On Tuesday you'll take a science test on the computers. Thursday - Chapter 11 Exam Friday - All right, so I'll be gone with he chess team to a tournament. I'm leaving you a movie about Billy the Kid. :) We'll finish with Chapter 11 this week, so if you have ANY work (and want credit for it) from this chapter that you have not turned in...then it needs to be turned in. Hey 7th Graders! All right, so we have started chapter 11. It's a cool chapter, with lots of interesting stories. The Civil War....Billy the Kid.....Geronimo! Tomorrow, your GR11 is due, don't forget! I'll throw a copy on this post, just in case. We'll spend the next two days discussing the material in the chapter. Like I mentioned in class, I want to slow down for a bit and spend some time going over the information. You have testing next week, 7th graders, so I'm a little fuzzy about next week's schedule.
